How Search Engine Behaves on Do Follow and No Follow

By

Importance of DoFollow | No Follow Maths

Dofollow is simple but very useful tag for webmastrs who have sites, directories, forums or social community or bookmarking sites. Do follow tag shares site importance to those sites whome they are linking. Search engines follows these links if link attribute is dofollow or not define. If will be automatically counted as do follow link back.

No follow attribute to stop sharing site value to other sites, if site is listed to most famous site but with attribute no follow, you will jusat get traffic from those sites but no search engine ranking and page rank benefits. Some sites or portal uses no follow attribute to outbound links, some bookmarking site like delicious, which has largest data base of outbound links, they uses no follow attribute to all links.

DIGG has just smart way for this, digg is 100% do follow but they have started to open outbound links under tiny url frame format and from thst link, visitr can open outbound link but less chances for those sites to get benefits of do follow attributes.

How Search Engine Behaves on Do Follow and No Follow attribute?

  • Google follows NoFollow links but simply does not pass on credit to an outbound link that is tagged with the attribute.
  • Yahoo follows NoFollow links and excludes the link from all ranking calculations.
  • MSN may or may not follow a NoFollow link, but it does exclude it from ranking calculations.
  • Ask.com does not adhere to NoFollow.

The majority of blogs implore the nofollow tag in their comments. That means that when you specify your website URL when leaving a comment, the link created does not help to elevate your website’s status in the algorithms search engines use. Although not really an “official” term, people often use dofollow to describe blogs that do not use the nofollow tag. In other words, comments left on these blogs do help to elevate your website’s status in search engines.
